Deployment

It's coming soon. The day when I will wave goodbye to my husband and scoop six tearful children put them in my car and begin a 7 month deployment journey.
but.
not
yet.
right now, I am praying for time to stand still for just a teenie bit longer before those dreaded moments arrive. for now we are trying to simply enjoy life and forget what lurks around the bend.

Happy 6th Birthday Ki

He certainly isn't the little baby boy I held in my arms with a deployed Marine halfway around the globe on his birthday anymore... but he is such an amazing sweet spirited kid that always brings joy to my heart. He is still young enough to give his mama sweet hugs and kisses. Today we celebrate his 6th birthday. My sweet Kiahboy.

Dreary

it's been gloomy here...

both figuratively and physically.

we are trying to be the puzzle piece that fits in here... somewhere.

but.

we don't.

maybe we're not supposed to....

i just don't know.

are we supposed to grow where we are planted....

but.

are we planted in the right location....?

God is certainly not the author of confusion....

so why does this keep tripping us up? almost like our shoelaces have been tied together.

or is this strange cloud just another association with a future deployment...

probably doesn't help much that our fair California weather has been a mix of clouds and a very extended June gloom... even though it is July

forgive my jumbled post...

please pray we take the road God would have us to take and that He would make which path to take very clear.

thanks!

Praying for Mighty Sam

Please join me in prayer for this special little guy. He arrived early. His momma has 5 other children and is a dear friend of mine. He spent his first few weeks in the NICU while momma ran back and forth to the hopsital deperately trying to keep her family together while her Hubby was away at training - USMC style. Well today, due to less than adequate weight gain- baby Samuel is getting a 3 day (minimum) stay back in the hospital. Thankfully daddy is home with her little ones and this wonderful momma can stay with her precious Samuel but would you please join me in praying for this precious little guy! thanks!

up & down

So I am doing a typical roller coaster emotionally for a spouse gearing up for another deployment. Several things are different though, many of those differences are due to the fact that this whole deployment has yet to feel real. In fact, the training schedule has been so light, that I am so afraid that the carpet will be yanked out from under me when the real deal takes place that I will land squarely on my behind.

I am emotional. which is very unlike me.

I am not dealing with many of those emotions on so many levels.

I am tired all. the . time.
which is "normal" for predeployment jitters.

I am secluding myself and pulling away from people...
which again appears to be a normal response as we head into this thing we call deployment.

and here I am on the roller coaster of life once again....
asking God to take the controls....
cuz I can't do this alone.

oh...did I mention my hubbys training schedule was supposed to take him away from us most of July has been changed once again (argh!) not sure if I should jump for joy or stomp my feet in frustration. Semper Gumby :)

a month

ok so I have been absent....

sort of.

I have been on facebook (although less that my last post) and I have hopped on my blog wondering what is timeworthy to talk about...

and I have been at a loss.

I mean life has certainly been full of enough adventures to share
but
I can't seem to find the right words these days.

anyhow. I am still around.
homeschooling through the summer
spending time with the hubby before our upcoming deployment
and trying not to dwell on life or what it holds...

this is just a hi to the few of you that DO read my blog :)
and hopefully I will be back to writing soon....
